[In the Media] “Significance of the Basic Act for Dementia and Expectations for the Future” (News Medical World Weekly,  January 1, 2024)

An article by Shunichiro Kurita, Senior Manager of Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI), was published in the News Medical World Weekly.

This issue was a special issue on the “Basic Act for Dementia to Promote the Creation of an Inclusive Society”, which came into effect on January 1, 2024. In this article, Kurita discusses the significance of the Basic Act for Dementia, not only in terms of its position in dementia policy, but also in terms of its jurisprudential and political significance. As for future expectations and challenges, the article also discusses how the ideals outlined in the law can be disseminated in local communities.
